Movies made in the United States often get translated and brought to other countries. However, when you translate anything, sometimes it doesn’t quite sound like it should! Some of the most popular movies in America just don’t sound the same in other countries.
Check out some of these hilarious translations. You won’t believe what some of these movies are called in other countries. Some of the titles even give away the plot of the entire movie! See which one is your favorite in the list below:
This one is pretty straight forward, although it does sound kind of funny! The War of the Stars is the French title and The War of the Galaxies is Spanish.
Free Willy is one of those classic kid’s movies that makes you laugh and cry. The Chinese title says that the whale runs, not jumps, to heaven. This kind of gives some things away.
Another title that gives away the twist is He’s a Ghost! You may know that Haley Joel Osment’s character is dead the whole time in The Sixth Sense, but those in China will never experience the shock. Very interesting.
Denmark gives this classic film a strange title. No one actually drowns in chocolate sauce, so we wonder where that came from.
